Kids are Our Future
|
Today's
kids are America's future workforce. Al-Razaq recognizes the need
to be highly skilled to meet the demands of an economy driven by
technology and our role in promoting a workforce that reflects the
diversity in our community. |
Al-Razaq
understands the important part community businesses play and have
chosen to become involved. We believe in creating a learning
environment
that would build on kids' basic Math and English skills by structuring
a program that gives students: |
 |
 |
Introductory
exposure to the IT industry |
 |
Comprehensive
lessons on computer system assembly |
 |
Familiarity
with administrative and office support in a corporate environment
|
 |
Participation
in vital research projects in the IT Industry, with emphasis
on computing services |
|
 |
We
piloted our Community Outreach Program in Summer 2002 with
the selection of four (4) students from Hightower High School,
Willowridge High School, and Bellaire High School for company
internships. The highlight of the program is the opportunity
for the interns to each build a computer for personal use.
These computers provide the students with a tool to pursue
their goals with newly acquired skills. It will help them
carve that future that is out there awaiting them. At the
end of the internship, these computers were donated to the
interns. |
